5 cars

These are the cars produced on territory of Latvia in different periods and under different rules. Luckily there is still a potential for car production in Latvia.
 Most of these cars can be seen in Riga Motor Museum which is quite unique museum and there you can get more information about most of these and many other cars.

Russo-Balt

   Russo-Balt cars were produced on the Russo-Baltic wagon factory from 1909 to 1915. At that time modern Latvia didn`t exist and territory was a part of Russian Empire.
Russo-Balt produced different types og cars, including fire engines and even rally cars.

Ford-Vairogs

Licence built Ford Vairogs V8 De Luxe was a copy of American Ford V8 92A.Car was built on Ford Vairogs factory.
Ford Vairogs cars were very popular in Latvia due to their low cost and high quality. Company also produced models Vairogs Junior and Vairogs Taunus as well as trucks and buses.
Production lasted from 1937 to 1940 and stopped due to World War II and company nationalization by the Soviet Union.

RAF Latvija

RAF 2203 was developed and produced in Latvian republic during Soviet era and few years after Latvia regained its independence. It was the most mass produced microbus in Soviet Union.On the picture is a modification with index 2907, these buses were specially produced for 1980 Summer Olympics. RAF 2203 also were exported to Eastern Bloc and even to Finland.

Amoplant


AMO Plant VDL - Ambassador is a city bus built under license of VDL Bus&Coach(Netherlands).The buses were built in Jelgava by company AMO Plant (2004 -2015).Some 250 buses were produced and part of them serving as city buses in Jelgava. Though production was ceased in 2015(due to a tough geopolitical situation(City of Moscow Property Department was the main share holder))there are currently negotiations with VDL Bus&Coach to resume production of buses in Jelgava.

OSCar eO
  
Drive eO is an engineering company which operates from Latvia and specializes in development of electric and hybrid electric prototype vehicles for demanding applications. It was founded in 2011[1] to create the first ever hybrid electric rally car OSCar eO for the 2012 Dakar Rally.[2] Driven by Māris Saukāns [lv] and Andris Dambis [lv], it successfully completed the rally.[3]
