5 Likes and Dislikes about Latvia

This might be the last page of this blog where I would like to share my 5 Likes and 5 Dislikes about Latvia and, of course, listen about your Likes and Dislikes.
Please remember that though there are many good countries, there is no perfect country so be polite and reasonable in your thoughts.

Unique location and compactness
Latvia is situated between Russia and Europe which creates a unique mix and mentality(in positive sense),meaning that living here people can understand western and eastern mentality(if they want to).
It is compact and you can easily reach each point of it within not more than few hours.

Still relatively cheap
Despite some items being the same price as in countries with higher income, it is still relatively cheap to leave here if you are well organized.

Creative and strong people are living here
Despite all the troubles and obstacles, local people developing great products.Latvia is also a home to many great musicians and young talents.

Latvian anthem
Latvian national anthem says God bless Latvia and this is what Latvia really needs. Thanks God, most of the laws here are still based on christian values.

Many opportunities
Some might say I`m joking but I`m not.Though I`m not a businessman, it is obvious that many niches are not yet occupied in Latvia and competition is not as high as in countries with bigger market.
Sometimes we are just lazy or too blind to see.

5 Dislikes

Political instability
Problem known since Republic of Latvia was proclaimed 1st time.
Parties can not agree with each other and form coalition.

Bad roads(some places)
Unfortunately, many places in Latvia still have bad roads.
Sounds like eternal problem(hopefully not).

Information war
As mentioned in point Likes, Latvia is between east and west which places it in the epicenter of information war. From one source we hear how bad Americans are from other source we hear 
how bad Russians are, but we all are people and there is no bad nation.

Weather 
There is definitely a lack of sun.If summer is good then you can see the sun partially in spring, in the summer and in the beginning of autumn.In winter time I mostly see sun once or twice a week.


"Garumzimes" 
- longitudinal signs in Latvian language.
I like Latvian language but still can not learn all of the longitudinal signs :(
Example:
Janis(wrong),Jānis(correct) - but this one is an easy example.
